Roles and Permissions in Doolphy

Today, we’re introducing you the system of roles and permissions for the users in your team.

What are roles and permissions? How can they help us?

A rol is a set of permissions on specific areas and functionalities of Doolphy which can be configured to define what each user can do in the application.

Thanks to this system you can create a set with a number of different roles that later can be assigned to users depending on the work that they have to carry out.

What are reports in Doolphy for?

Some time ago, we wrote about the importance of monitoring project development, and reports are essential to fulfill that mission. They provide information about a certain period of time so that we can easily analyze, draw conclusions and make decisions about our projects. Thus they are a key element that allows us to improve.

Benefits of the SaaS Project Management Software

So far, we have written about our new application and about the model in which it is based. Why is it important for a company to have a tool to manage its projects? Given the current situation of all companies, we all find the necessity of working harder, faster and in several projects at the same time, optimizing expenses in order to obtain the best profitability possible. To achieve this goal the best movement is to learn how to organize our resources and employee time to maximize the functionality of our company. This is not easy though. When a company deals with several projects at the same time, and is possibly composed by a multidisciplinary or geographically distributed team, communication issues may arise. E-mail, telephone, meetings can be used to improve the situation but they aren’t necessarily the best possible way.

This issue is addressed by a number of software solutions such as video conferences, instant messaging, synchronization tools, social networks, etc. However today we want to comment on a tool that is gaining a lot of traction lately: the project management software on demand.

3 Years Old!: Thanks*3

Hi everyone!

It is always difficult to define the exact day when a startup is born. It could be the day when the idea was born, or when the team meets for the first time or the day when the company begins “officially” its activity. We opted for the latter option and, therefore, just these days we are celebrating Doolphy’s birthday.

During these 3 years we have grown a lot in every way: team, product, business… But certainly what we feel most proud of is how the Doolphy community has grown: customers, suppliers, fans, followers, friends. We still feel like a startup, trying to improve every day our product and offer a better service.

We want to thank*3:

- Thanks for following us through this blog, our Twitter, Facebook, etc.

- Thanks for your comments, suggestions and complaints.Your opinion is very important to us!

- And, above all, thanks for choosing Doolphy to manage your projects!

Perfect Project Management (Part IV) = GNOs + Doolphy

GNOsHello!

With this post we complete the series about how different kinds of organizations make the best use of Doolphy to manage their projects. Today, we want to talk about NGOs, any kind of nonprofit organizations, charity institutions and socially aware foundations.

A “social project” has many common elements with projects that are developed in different environments, such as the business world. The good use of the resources that are available is the key to achieve the planned goals. To do so it is necessary to have a plan, a non-interrupted internal communication and keep track of the project development.

Doolphy Actors (IV): Managers & Directors

Hello everybody!

Managers & Directors: Doolphy

With this post, we close a series about profiles related to project management and how Doolphy helps them in their work.

This time we will review the case of Adriana, who runs a company specialized in online marketing, covering all types of Internet-related works: from website development to online communication through management of advertising campaigns. We have talked about collaborators, team members, project managers and clients. Today we want to talk about managers and directors who, although often are not directly related to project execution, are really interested in its development and outcome.

Before using Doolphy, Adriana used to spend a lot of time with the overall coordination of the company projects. Not being involved in the day to day of projects, she constantly needed to meet the various project managers to know their progress.

With this post, we want to resume the series on the sectors that benefit from the use of Doolphy in managing their projects. This time is the turn of technological projects and companies in the ICT sector, for example those engaged in software or mobile application development.

In past installments, we brought to you 2 success cases in this sector: NetLiga and Yxcon Proyectos. In both cases, we could see some elements that are common in most technological projects and how Doolphy helps them in their management.
