We all know that team motivation is very important, but what about bosses?
From time to time we may feel tempted to think that a boss cannot be demotivated or should be prepared for any situation. However, we should keep in mind that they are humans and have to suffer a lot of tensions and pressures daily.
They may need encouragement to keep going in spite of troubles.
It can be difficult to find the middle ground between motivating your boss and sucking up to her or him. I think that you should behave naturally. Thanks to a simple smile you can transmit that everything is ok and they are part of the team despite of the bad times. In short, you should share with them happiness and celebrations and, of course, they also have to be told when there is something wrong or they aren’t meeting our expectations. If people is honest about the existing problems, they can find better solutions, which directly affects their motivation.
As you can see, we are talking about basic and easy actions that help another team member and I’m sure that they affect in a positive way your team, if you apply them correctly, in the long term.
Do you think that is a good thing to have a motivated boss? Do you think that there are other actions to motivate them? We look forward to hearing from you!
